CFP® Certification Prerequisites
To be eligible to take the CFP® Certification Exam, a student must enroll in a registered program and complete prerequisite educational material, or qualify to take the exam under a "challenge" status (e.g. the student is a CPA or CFA, and completes the required Financial Plan Development course).
A variety of institutions offer registered programs, including certificate programs, undergraduate programs, graduate programs, or Ph.D. programs. The registered programs avail themselves of different teaching methods for the material, such as traditional classroom, self-study, or online learning. Regardless of what kind of course is offered, the curriculum must be approved by the CFP Board. A complete listing of these registered programs can be found on the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards website.
Keir Educational Resources can assist students with both the prerequisite material and with the final review for the CFP® Certification Exam. Regardless of where a student is in the study process, Keir's CFP® exam study materials can help to enhance and streamline the learning experience.
